Its November, and I seem to be on a collision course with Christmas!  Has time ever seemed to go so fast?

I'm travelling a bit at the moment, bringing Thermal Imaging to different centres around the country.  I'm really enjoying working in these great clinics and meeting some of the amazing people practising there.

One of the downsides of travelling though, is that it knocks me out of my routine.  Getting up at the crack of dawn, when I don't feel like eating breakfast, and getting home too late for dinner before bed - not to mention the difficulty of finding proper food, and the time to eat it, when I'm working all day.  There is a dreadful temptation to eat anything that's handy and suffer the consequences later!

The trick is to be a little bit organised, and you don't have to be super-human to do it!

If, like me, you can't face food too early in the morning, drink a large glass of warm water when you get up (you can add a squeeze of lemon or cider vinegar if you like).  This will help to flush out the digestive system and get the bowels moving, leaving space in the gut for breakfast.  You can still keep it light with a small bit of fruit with some seeds on top.  Its best to leave the seeds to soak overnight - then they will be easier to chew and digest.

Home-made Vegetable soups are a great option for lunch or dinner on the go, but try to give yourself time to relax and switch off before spooning it in.  Ask for Spelt or Gluten Free bread with it, or take a slice out of the freezer before leaving home and bring it with you.

If you find a place that does Smoothies or Juices, then go for it!  But ask for no ice or dairy to be included.  Fresh vegetable juices are great for getting your veggies in and giving you an energy boost during the day.

A real life-saver is to always carry a small bag of soaked nuts, seeds & dried fruit with you, for emergencies. This will prevent you from going too long between meals, and then giving in to eating whatever's put in front of you.

Lastly, always have some Digestive Enzymes in your pocket to ensure whatever you eat will be digested as quickly as possible, and be sure to take pro-biotics daily to keep your immune system functioning well.

Until next time - Keep well,
Liz
